We visited on a cold and snowy December morning and I was immediately drawn to the white chocolate peppermint hot cocoa. It was so delicious- creamy and frothy- the kind of hot beverage you want to drink while you curl up to a warm and toasty fire.
The food menu is filled with breakfast bakery items like bagels, muffins and coffee cake. Also on the breakfast menu are breakfast croissant sandwiches, French toast and pigs in a blanket. Chad ordered a French toast croissant- a large buttery croissant dipped in egg batter and cooked golden brown just like a piece of traditional French toast. It was absolutely divine on a cold winter’s morning.
For my breakfast, I went with a Nutella and banana crepe. My crepe was warm and light, stuffed with fresh banana slices and a generous serving of Nutella spread. It literally melted in my mouth. For $4 it was not a large serving at all, but it was the perfect size for a light breakfast to start the day.
While we didn’t enjoy a lunch there, they have a great menu with soups, salads and sandwiches, including Croque Madam- a croissant with ham, swiss, dijon mustard and Bechamel sauce topped with a sunny-side up egg. Also on the lunch menu is a raspberry ham and turkey sandwich and curried chicken salad. Lunch will be on my bucket list next time.
I have been to Peru many times over the last few years and Café du Cirque has always been on my list but we have never been able to find the time to eat there. From now on Café du Cirque will be a tradition for us.
A cute cozy atmosphere, great cocoa, a great menu and very friendly service earns 5 sprouts from this sprout. I’d give them 10 out of 5 sprouts if there was such a thing!
