There are a lot of great spots to have breakfast and they are all very similar typically offering eggs, bacon and pancakes. One restaurant that stands out from the rest is a little place called Peach Valley Cafe. Besides your standard breakfast menu, Peach Valley Cafe has a variety of fancy omelets, eggs benedicts, and tantalizing breakfast sandwiches. As of now there are only 5 locations in the Central Florida area including 2 in Orlando, and one in Gainesville, Ormond Beach and Heathrow. On weekends there is always a wait. During the week it is fairly easy to get a table right away.
The first thing we ordered was their apple fritters. They are brought to the table in a brown paper bag filled with cinnamon and sugar. The server shakes the bag coating all the warm fritters with the sugar mixture. She then poured them onto a plate garnished with a serving of strawberry yogurt sauce. They were obviously fresh and straight from the oven. They were incredibly delicious and were even better dipped into the yogurt sauce. And- as we enjoyed our little breakfast appetizer I noticed every other table around us had also ordered these fritters so they are obviously a popular choice here.
I ordered the vegetable and egg croissant benedict for my breakfast. Instead of the traditional English muffin, my eggs were served on a hot and flaky croissant. And instead of the traditional ham, my eggs were served atop slices of beefsteak tomatoes and asparagus. I loved it. Every bite. Every single delicious bite. And I will say this- I usually prefer the shredded hash browns with my eggs, but at Peach Valley they serve breakfast potatoes. I loved that they were thickly cut and crispy. I ate everything on my plate which doesn’t happen often.
Chad ordered his usual French Toast. Five slices of thick bread grilled to golden perfection. He liked it. At least he ate everything on his plate also which I took to mean that he liked it. We haven’t been to many places that can really mess up French Toast. One day we are going to shake things up and I am going to order the French Toast and Chad will order the eggs. One day…….
Peach Valley Cafe is light and airy. An open atmosphere- you don’t feel like you are on top of other patrons crammed into a tight dining space like some other breakfast joints. We felt like we could relax and really take our time to enjoy the food.
Peach Valley Cafe also serves lunch. The lunch menu consists of sandwiches, salads and soups as well as homemade favorites like chicken pot pie and shrimp and grits. And of course you can end your meal with a peach cobbler (a la mode if you want) or a Ghirardelli Double Dark Chocolate Brownie. I already have my eye on what I am going to order for lunch and I will save that for another post.
So when you visit make sure you order the apple fritters to start. You will be in for a yummy treat.
